Hey, I'm   Kathleen!

Let me introduce myself.

Hey there! I'm Kathleen, and I've spent the last 6 years meeting and marrying couples across Tasmania / lutruwita.

Now, it might be a controversial statement, but I'm not a celebrant because I'm a sucker for love and marriage. Sure love is great! However, what I love most is helping create magical moments, to celebrate people's stories and to delve into what makes them tick as a couple. That's why I became a celebrant in the first place, because I knew ceremonies could be moments of true celebration in the most modern, genuine, and engaging way possible!

And since my first couple at the very beginning of 2018, just after marriage equality was finally made legal and the phrase "union between two people" came into being in ceremonies (woo!) and in the hundreds of ceremonies I've led since, I've been lucky enough to marry all couples in love, in the way that defines them best.

Before I jumped into the wedding world, I was working as a Story Steward on the West Coast Wilderness Railway on the West Coast of Tassie  - telling tales of history past, checking the time on my old timey pocket watch, and having an absolute whale. That job brought my love of storytelling into the real world, and laid the base for this incredible gig of marriage celebrant.

These days, I'm based on the eastern shore of Hobart, with my gorgeously nerdy husband - a DnD and board game obsessive and all around great Dad, our two littlies - Leopold and Bertie - who rock my world on the daily and fill the house with delicious chaos, and our King Charles Cavalier, Manny, whose goal in life is to settle on a lap.

Often seen with a maniacal grin, and possibly too many teeth, I've been described as an instant mate, warm, friendly, dorky, and easy going. So that's pretty spot on.

I'm currently a little (a lot) obsessed with all things gardening - can often be found happily wandering around my veggie patches and looking lovingly at my cucumbers.
