I'm Kathleen, a Hobart Marriage Celebrant crafting engaging, witty and relaxed ceremonies.
I marry incredible couples in Hobart as well as all across Tasmania / lutruwita, celebrating the stories that bring them together! Relaxed and laidback elopements, epic and outrageous shebangs, elegant and stunning Dos, and parties packed with personality, warmth or straight up nerdery - my deal is making sure we create a ceremony that is completely you, so that you may just walk away saying "that was my favourite part of the day!"
Far from being the stodgy and boring bit that precedes the drinks and dancing, your ceremony should be the pinnacle of the day, setting the tone for the rest of the event! Whether it's just you two on a windy mountain top, a swanky bar filled with a whole swathe of your fave people, or everyone you know and love amongst the vineyards - I'm on board.
Weddings
The guests, the outfits, the story - this is the wedding ceremony as we know it but with a modern vibe. I Dos and Vows, Guests and Music, your story and your style.
Elopements
Mountain peaks or trendy bars with just you and your lover, or maybe a few of your crew too.
No big crowds, but lots of big love.

How does it work?
Get in touch
Let's talk dates and deets! We'll tee up a no obligation get together (in person or virtually) and discuss what's involved in creating a ceremony, what we'll be doing in the leadup, and you can make sure I'm the celebrant for you before cracking on!
Cracking on
The dates matched, we vibed, and the date is official! In the months leading up to your ceremony, we'll meet again for a Paperwork and Planning meeting, and a good chinwag about your story. I'll bring the paperwork, you bring the IDs, we'll both bring the ideas. Someone will bring the gin.
Almost there
As the wedding day approaches, it's time to get all of our respective ducks in a row. We'll run through those clever plans we made and make sure we are good to go! With an optional Rehearsal to give your Wedding Crew a chance to run through logistics.
The Big Day
It's time! Whether you are going for an epic party, or a something low fuss and relaxed, I'll be there with some combination of top notch speaker and microphone, certificates, pens, hand warmers and hollywood tape - and the love story that led you to this day!
Pricing
My pricing for Weddings and Elopements begin at $1400 for 2024, and $1500 for 2025, and include meetings, marriage paperwork and solemnisation, my stellar Bose S1 Pro speaker system with Sennheiser microphone, personal vow writing resources, a fully personalised, engaging and modern ceremony and several hundred ceremonies worth of experience and know-how.
Travel further than 50km beyond Hobart may incur some fuel and Jellybaby costs.
Legals Only Ceremonies are $550 (not usually available on Fri/Sat/Sun afternoons).
